The xx have been added to the line-up for NOS Alive 2017, in Portugal.
Joining Ryan Adams, previously announced headliners Foo Fighters and Depeche Mode on the bill, the trio will grace the Heineken Stage on 6th July. 2017 is set to be an important year for the band as they release the follow up to their sophomore album, Coexist.
“I See You” marks a new era for the London trio. Shifting their recording process, their third studio album was produced with over two years in New York, Marfa, Reykjavik, Los Angeles, and London. It’s been described as being more “daring, clearer and more ambitious than ever”. Produced by the man himself Jamie Smith, alongside Rodaidh McDonald (Adele, Savages, Daughter), it has become one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year. The album features lead single, ‘On Hold’, a release they have celebrated with a fantastic video shot in Texas, directed by Alasdair McLellan.
The xx will also be playing a number of tour dates in 2017, including seven shows in Brixton, and stops in Manchester, Nottingham and Cardiff. With the announcement from NOS Alive, many fans will be expecting further appearances next summer… Glastonbury perhaps?
NOS Alive 2017 returns to Lisbon’s Passeio Marítimo de Algés from July 6th-8th, 2017.
