Haim emerge fresh after 3 years with new track ‘Right Now’

Haim return at long last, revealing a stripped back style in a one-take live music video.

Haim have certainly kept us waiting for new material. It has been three whole years since Days Are Gone was released and in the past few months the LA trio have been teasing us with trailers and billboards across the globe. Now, they have shared Paul Thomas Anderson’s directed video for new single Right Now taken from their upcoming LP Something To Tell You.

The song finds Haim channeling something more stripped back and with a smoother sound, with most of the song being led by piano chords and guitar riffs. The riffs are gritty, analogue almost as they feedback. Percussion comes in from two directions with double drum beats making for a fitting crescendo.

The track focuses on the tug of war during relationships with feelings and emotions flowing in all different ways. Danielle’s innocent vocals carry endeavour and sensualistic experiences of passion and lust. This is a song that really shows what Haim are made of, we await more, girls.

Something to Tell You is out on July 7 via Columbia Records.
